What do you use to keep track of expenses

I was looking at getting a book with columns (or writing in notebook). Option A is have a column for date/ bushings/ kits/ blanks/ drill bits/ supplier/ total. Option B is have column for date/ item/ supplier/ total. I would have to divide the first columns for qty also.

WE use an Excel Spreadsheet. It gets kind of long, but if you use the workbook, you can just start a new sheet each year. Works good so far.
 
I use Microsoft Money. An older version that is pretty easy to use. I believe Microsoft have discontinued its newer version of this software and it is now available as a free shareware version.
