Anybody got one of these? I wondered if they are well built or junky? I have gotten some great stuff at Sams and other stuff....not so much. I would like a better brand but they are really pricey!

My shop is all on wheels and I thought this could hold my buffer on top and provide storage and a work top....Any thoughts? Thanks

My dad bought one. I'd give it a B-.

Pros:
solid top
full suspension drawers (I think, but pretty sure). Even though the picture doesn't show it.
Good casters with wheel lock.
Good storage.

Cons:
light gauge sheet metal door. My Dad's was bent, and he straightened it easily.
Because of that the lock is more for show than anything else. Anybody wanting inside could get in easily. I guess it would keep kids out though.

Hey Bob --thanks
I am not looking to lock it...no kids...most everything I have is on pegboard anyway...could I leave the door off and just have shelving. Ias the door the only issue.

Well at least other than the 300 lb pound box...

Mike:
Sam's also sells the maple top table and the drawer sets (same company) as individual units. I have 3 of the maple top tables and 4 of the drawer units (that also have maple tops) and roll neatly under the tables.

The tables were priced $50 LESS than just buying the maple top and building your own table. The drawers are ball bearinged as slide nicely. My oldest table is 6 years old and still looks new.

Frankly, I think this is the best work bench value in the market place! Look at the user reviews for the stand alone drawers and the table top. Many reviews, all excellent!

Respectfully submitted.

I don't have the workbench but I bought two of smaller units a few years ago and made my own top to form a workbench for my garage ( I believe the units I got have 4 drawers on one side and a door on the other ). They went together quite well and although they have not received alot of use they have held up quite well. I would agree that they are not made from real heavy material but at the time I felt they were a pretty good unit for the price.

Mark:
Our SAMs has the boxes in two configurations. One like you mention (door with adjustable shelves on one side, drawers on the other). The other is just drawers.

I have one of each type of cabinet under each table. That configuration works well for me.

Thanks guys--I really appreciate your input. I think I might try this. I have been very creative with casters...everything I own including one 6'x2' workbench plumbed with air and electricity, a 400 lb 52" saw stop, and 600 lb 16" planer is on casters!

After reading this thread for almost two years I have copied how one turner stores his bushings in this and sandpaper in that, and now have many different styles of storage boxes and tackle boxes. That works just fine, but I have storage containers everywhere. With this cabinet I get storage for all those items in ONE place, some work surface AND roll it up to my lathe (which is on double lock casters too)...I just wanted to know if they are well or poorly built...and it sounds like they are built ok, so with me not using them more than two to three times a week, I might give it a shot.

Thanks Andy, Mark, and Bob for your help....I won't make it to Sams until Sunday, so I will continue to look for advice.

Someday, if I live long enough, hit the lottery, or find a big bag of money, so I can move to another house, I will have a fantastic shop like Jimmie Roberson ( Robersonjr) and I can throw the casters away and not have to take two of my stalls to put our vehicles in!!!
