The Western Diamondback Rattlesnake has a tail other than the rattles on the end. The actual tail has black and white bands. The cap is made with the skin off the tail and the pen is the diamond pattern off the back.

Love the pen Kenny but like Mark, I hate snakes. I once shot a rattler with a .357 mag with snake shot, there was nothing left except a little dent in the ground. That's how to treat a poisonous snake. Non poisonous live a happy life around me.

They all serve a purpose. I don't go out looking for them or play with them when I run across one. In Sweetwater TX they have a round up each year. Literally nothing goes to waste. I buy a few skins from them to build a few pens and calls.

Very nice Kenny. I had to retire my rattlenake boots a while back. Still have my belt and hatband. We get quite a few rattlers around here too. I don't bother them and they don't bother me. Lol I don't mind snakes. I have 2 ball pythons right now. Lol
