Oops to slow to respond, but I was right
The mechinism is pretty stiff, but seems much more solid than anything else I've seen out there. I'll say one thing for it. It is a breeze to put together. That is a good thing for me as I don't follow directions very well and this did not have any so it worked out well.

Oh come on Landon, it's not just a pen! It's a beautiful hand crafted writing instrument!! I just picked a few of those up from Aaron myself. I'm glad to here they're easy to put together. By the way, that's some nice looking Box Elder wood.

Thanks all, I think its a kit that requires some shape to the barrel to do it justice. I really was not sure so I kept it slim and straight. I'll call it a lesson learned. My photos are improving but I'm scraping the store bought light tent(it sux) and building my own next weekend. I'm sure that will be an improvement.(Well I hope)
