Waterslide decal question.

Both of my laser engravers have malfunctioned, leaving me to resort to trying waterslide decals for personalizing some pens. The decks I have are for laser printers, and (as the instructions weren't at all clear on this) I want to know what is the best way to remove the edges of applied decals.
