My wife spotted this pen at a local craft fair today and while she liked the inlay blank she wanted a smoother, glossier finish on the wood and a different hardware kit on it (it had a black/gold kit on it). She bought the pen and brought it home for me to rework. With it she dropped a Wall Street II satin/chrome kit on the bench.
Tore it down, sanded it smooth, then give it a nice CA finish before polishing it out. Trimmed the ends square with a barrel trimmer for better fit and stuck it together.
I can't take complete credit for this one since I didn't assemble the inlay, but here's the end result.
