Visiting LA in October - need your help!

Hey, Justin here from Australia. I'm visiting LA for a conference in early October and wondering if there are any pen turning related activities/events on that I should be on the lookout for? I'm in town for 2 weeks from October 2.

I'm afraid Australian Customs are very anti bringing back timber from the US, but I'd like to check out any supply companies in the LA area that might offer some unusual kits or acrylics.

I'm happy to offer some small Australian timber samples for the best suggestions

Justin: I live in San Bernardino, about an hour away from L. A. Don't know of any activities going on at that time but you're welcome to stop by for a visit.
