Very Old Spalted Maple

These 2 pens were cut from a local maple tree that was cut down last summer. Based on the growth ring count, the tree was over 225 years old!

I had the blanks stabilized by Steve (NittanyLion). I am very happy with the way they turned out.

That is some beautiful maple. I have gotten several of Steve NittanyLion's stabilized blanks and they are very well done. Pennsylvania seems to have some really nice color to its woods..
