I've read and seen the problem of separating the barrel and bushing after using CA. Would using a thin wire between them work to separate?

I believe it would work but the smell? You would be burning/melting through the CA with friction. Might be a bit TOXIC!

I use conical bushings made from UHMW plastic I picked up at Woodcraft. Cut it into blocks about 3/4" x 3/4". Drill with 1/4" bit or the diametter of your mandrel. Mount them up and turn to a cone. You can build with 7mm tubes inserted but I like the snug fit of just drilling.

Removing the stuck bushings!

For 7mm bushings, I just clamp the bushing in a vise, and break the barrel loose. For the larger diameter byshings, I coat them with Johnsons paste wax before turning. This acts as a release ageant. Wors well with epoxy too.
