Would tin work has molds for blanks? My dad had recently acquired a large amount of these boxes at work. I have some spare tin and solder at home and figured I could solder in dividers to make 3/4" wide blanks. Would I need a release agent or should it pop right out of the tin mold?

Since the casting materials stick to the tubes they will probably stick to the tin as well. I would use the mold release just to be sure. Also, you could use thin wood dividers and spacers instead of the metal. These might prove easier to get the blanks out and apart.

Ok I'll have to give it a try, probably won't be until I get some money in for christmas:D! I'll Do one half w/ mold release and one w/o. And as a side question what is everyone's preferred mold release I believe I heard about vaseline being used.
