Has anyone here ever tried applying Enduro in any other way other than dipping? If so what type of problems did you encounter? Did the finish come out as good as if it was dipped?

I was thinking of playing around with applying as you would with a CA finish.

Thanks,

Wade

I've never dipped in Enduro so I can't say how it compares but I've always wiped in on with a paper towel with the lathe at a slow speed. I can usually put on 3 or 4 coats in a couple of minutes, let it set over night, and then sand through the Micromesh grits to a shine that seems to stand up. The only challenge I sometime have is if you use the same papertowel too much it gets too much liquid on it and when you run it across the blank you end up with an Enduro spiral. But really the application is very similar to CA but I usually don't have the problems associated with CA. Hope this helps, Bob I.

Wayne's method for me.

I have basically used wayne method for my Enduro finish, the only difference is, that every other coat is 90 degrees to the last. In other words I turn on the lathe for one coat, then I turn it off and go from end to end, then turnit 1/8 turn then end to end again, and repeat until done. Don't worry if you get small bubbles on the finish this way, as the Enduro dries they dissapear on their own.
I found if I didn't follw this method, when I look closely at the finish under bright light I could see "swirls" in the finish it looks like. I alway use minimum of 4 coats of the sanding sealer and 4 of the Gloss finish. Do not micro mesh aggressively, even if your in a rush. the finish will just peel of then, ask me how I know. LOL

Bob,
I do not use paper towels or cloth for this one.
I put a bag that one of the parts comes in on a finger tip or two and use that as the applicator. And I run my lathe about one third or so range. Mine goes down to 24 rpms, so that is way too slow
Just a friendly reminder if you try this one though, keep the printed side of the bag away from the blanke.
It will remove the print and leave black spots on your blank
