In cleaning up stuff that my father left behind when he left this plane, I found some fired brass rifle cases that might be just the thing to help someone learn how to make rifle cartridge pens. These are all tarnished, with some having small dings. The case necks are in good condition and are not crushed.
31 empty cases of what appears to be 7.62 by 54 Russian. These are beredan primed and the fired primers are in most of the cases. The case mouths measure about 0.311 inches. An short section of 8 mm pencil brass tube will solder into the mouth and a 7mm tube can be soldered/glued into the 8mm piece of tube.
50 each Mil Surplus fired 30-06 brass. These have been de-primed and the necked resized to 0.308. Purchase of bushings and tubes from Wood-N-Whimsies, or following the instructions in Don Wards book with a Slim Line Kit and you can make your own shell based pen.
Note -- these are not powder coated, these are not polished, these are an opportunity to practice and learn for minimal investment of funds.
Send me your name and address and I will put Not To Exceed 5 each cases in a padded envelope and send it to that address, If I get more than 16 addresses, will spread the cases and there will be fewer in an envelope. My intent is to mix the cases so you can have the chance to try a couple of different things.
Will endeavor to get these into the mail next week. They will be coming from Alaska by cheapest way -- which is probably the slow boat to Bellingham once a week.
