An update on my internet saga . Today is one month since I switched from DSL to U-worst and of the 31 days we've been in and out of service 26 days and the last 3 days solid. Today we're to have two techs try to figure out the problem. Think I'll have them reinstall my land line and reinstall DSL.Sent from my I phone

It took close to 6 months for them to get ours right. My neighbor, 100 yards closer to the street, can't get get Uverse because he's too far from the box.

I believe it's a hit or miss situation.
I've had U-verse internet and phone for a year now. Got U-verse because Com Cast said they didn't serve my area.
Only problems were minor and were corrected when they installed a new lone to my house.

Well the tech just left (They only sent one) said he THINKS he has it fixed, I've heard that before but at least I was able to print lables to send out my orders today. Wish me luck.

I really feal for you Roy. I go nuts when something isn't right on one of our websites, so not having internet would be like solitary in the state pen.

Ain't technology grand!!! Sorry Roy, that you are having problems. Sometimes I feel helpless, too as I am Computer DUMB!!!

Saga continues, last night at 9:15 no connection, woke up this morning at AM still no connection at 8 it finally connected. Had the forth different serviceman out today, said is (might be) *(could be)* (maybe is) you get the picture. He did chang the router and it's worked all day and he is coming back with a UPS??? said it will keep the flow of electricty to the router even, but they don't stock them so he's getting one from AT&T in Norman Ok and won't have it till next week. Said normally it is charged to the customer $90.00 but because of the problems it will be N/C..
Anyone want to start a pool to see what day, month or year they finally fix this?

You might want to add and for how long it works.

Good luck Roy, that's got to SUCK!

Offer a Gator Jaw pen to the tech that get's it right as incentive...

Knock on wood.. my uverse works great.. I don't have tv though just dsl & phone. They basically forced me off my old plans. It cost more for my old dsl line than uverse, and then att started a new price plan for 'non uverse' phones that made it more expensive than having uverse. It was either upgrade to uverse or get cable and cable by me is just horrible.

This has nothing to do with U-verse or DSL's.... many years back I worked as traffic manager for a phone switching manufacturer... we built switch boards... but there was a story going around (and by the way back then there were over 1700 independent telephone companies in the U.S... all connecting into the Bell system-- I don't know how many there are today, but still many I'm sure), but the story was that there was a family that lived in rural Oklahoma... don't remember the town... but the family could not get phone service because they were at the end of the line for the local phone company and too far to string wire.... their house sat near the border of two phone companies and the neighbor phone company was 60 feet from their house... but could not cross the service line to connect them because of contractual agreements about not crossing lines...

Another story that I was a part of, when I first went to work in Houston, my office phone service was provided by a phone company out of Humble... service was sketchy at best... directly across the street was a AT&T phone switch box, but we could not cross the street to be connected to the AT&T, because we had an address in the Humble phone company's service area.

Sorry for such a bad situation. I live 8 miles from town so cable is obviously not gonna happen. ATT does not provide dsl in the country because not enough business to justify installing the "pushers" on the trunk. (I even canceled home service because the lines were/are so bad you couldn't even use it for dial up and were down half the time.) I'm using one of their air cards and normally have 3-4 bars of service (Not 3G) on a good day. They lease someone elses tower which is 6 miles from me. May have to go with Hughes Net when contract is up but I also use it on my laptop when i travel so it's kind of a delema of choice.

I live in remote area, thus it's satellite, dial-up, or nothing. I tried smoke signals but to much of the year is dry and fire threat seriously curtails that methodology.

HughesNet while not the least expensive is my best option. I have had good success with it.

Roy, I hear you. I finally decided to cal about my U-verse bill being substantially higher than promised. I used the link below from Gethuman.com. ATT called me in about 10 minutes, apologized for the mistake, and gave me a credit for the five months of over-charging me. I know that link will not help you with the repair end, but it will get you to a live person at ATT with zero hold time.

Sorry for your problems. I went to u verse to get rid of my terrible cable tv company and never looked back. My internet is way faster than DSL, My telephone does not cut out every time it rains and I have hundreds of crystal clear channels. Funny thing is that I only actually watch maybe 5 channels.

Roy, I don't know if your problem was solved or not, but here's something that might help. We are moving to the house next door and have been trying for 10 days to get the service transfered with no luck. I found this website, created an account, and contacted the manager Alex. In 2 hours we got a call from AT&T to ask if they could come tomorrow, Saturday, to do the work. It may have helped that I told them I had a box of cable and would do it myself if they couldn't.

U-verse ran the line 2 years ago in my area was told then it would be Oct.. I have called monthly to find out when I can get it. Still arent sure :( We have wild blue...if we have any rain at all thats it we are done til the storm moves out of area. Sometimes living in the country in the middle of 80 acres isnt all that, but I still love it.

Thanks Randy, I'll keep that filed. They did finally get it working and you won't belive what the problem was ..... when they changed out the router thay didn't change the plug with the transformer so the last service man that came here looked at the old router that I still had in the box and found the cord still newly wrapped and said "what the hell we've tried everthing else and it's been fine for the last 3 weeks. Go figure...

Awesome!!!!

Glad It's working better for you Roy, and I hope it continues. A Friend of my had so much trouble with Uverse that he finally switched to a different company completely.

Wishing you continued Good Luck!
