twist mechanism spinning in tube

I know credit card pens are cheap but i had one that started spinning in the tube. I pulled pin apart and sprayed the mechanism with silicone spray and worked it untill it spun easy. but the brass part was still spinning in the tube and not moving the cartrige in or out. so i put a drop of red locktite in the tube and re-inserted the mechinism. It works like it is supposed to now. however it will never come out of the tube.

Another fix is to use a center punch and make a few punch marks around brass, this will create raised spots that will increase the diameter.
