Just got some Turners Magic. have tried it on about 20 pens. IMHO its no better than any other friction polish. My question is how many coats are you putting on? I keep getting rings and high spots. Maybe I am doing it wrong but I think I can do a CA finish pretty close as fast. I have a lot of pens for an order to do and I keep jumping from one finish to another. Was hoping TM was going to be quicker. Thanks

I have used TM for over a year now. I don't use it on that many pens, mostly on bowls and other items. My typical procedure is 4 coats of the sealer, and then 4-5 coats of the gloss or satin finish coat. I have not has any problems with rings, etc. It finishes very smooth for me. I use folded paper towels as an applicator and 'pinch' the blank until I feel a little heat, at that point it should be set.

One of my two daily use pens is a TM finished pen. From January of last year or so.

I use three applications of the gloss sealer, a few applications of semi-gloss, which would be enough to ensure a smooth finish. Then finish with a couple of the gloss, at VERY high speed.

I use real cloth, just make sure it is not wrapped around any appendages, a new one for each type, and sometimes more than one for the semi-gloss.
