Turncrafter Pro VS noise!

Hey just started using this lathe. I've made 2 pens with it and it makes this awful squealing noise. Sounds like a belt squealing on a car. I've never heard this noise from any of the videos I've watched using this lathe or any other brand. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Shouldn't make that noise. Did you check the belt, tension, tracking properly, right side up etc????

Truthfully no, I just went with it out of the box. I figured it was set up right from the PSI. Let me check the belt and I will let you know.

Don't trust anything "out of the box". Check it out.

I just set mine up today same lathe. I havent actually turned anything but I did drill a blank I didnt hear any noise.

Ah the belt was one groove off. That took care of it. Hopefully I didn't damage the belt using it like that. Its always the simple things that get you. Thanks for the help. Now maybe the wife will talk to me again. [B)]
