This time last year I posted a question about TurboTax. Eventually, that problem was solved.
But its a year later, and another tax year, and here we go again.
This time the problem is with Foreign Tax Credits, Form 1116. TT apparently is able to complete the form, but it currently isn't able to complete Schedule B which is required if there is a carryover from a previous year. I was on the phone with TT for a couple of hours today before they acknowledged that there is a problem in the software and that the ETA for correcting that problem is 31 March. In spite of the fact that they sent out an e-mail today stating that Form 1116 is ready to go.
And according to some chatter in the TT forums, it is possible that when the Schedule B problem is eventually resolved, they won't be able to do e-Filing with that schedule. I can (reluctantly) deal with a delay in getting the form. That's simply unacceptable - the value in using TT is the ability to e-File, and if they can't do it, they why use their software?
