On the advice of others on IAP, I sat down with my band saw today and gave it some much needed attention. I threw out the blade it had on it (Which is the blade it came with), and put on a new one from Home Depot (until I can get a better one online). I played with the tension, tracking, guides, etc. I learned all the adjustable parts and how to use them, the way I should have done when I got the saw in the first place.

And wouldn't you know it, it's like a whole new tool! Cuts like a champ, blade doesn't get bogged down, even in the tough stuff!

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone on here that shares good advice...y'all are making me better in the shop every day!

Sometimes, it takes reading something like this to remind me that it is time to go and tune my BS, TS and even drill press. I know to do it and have done it at times in the past. A good tune up is almost like getting a new saw.

Thanks for sharing and reminding us!
