No great shakes here, but I wanted to share what I do. I hate it when the tube rolls or the newly painted round blank. This "jig" has helped. It also helps hold the tube to paint the part I have been holding easily.

I made it with nails hit into angled pre drilled holes. I used a dremel to cut off the heads.

I paint both the tube and the blank using Testors paint and Q tips. So far after adopting this technique (found on this site) I have not seen any hint of ghosting. I use two part epoxy from CSUSA to glue in the tube.
 
I am simple, drill it on the lathe with Colt or Fisch drill bits of the correct size. I clear chips often and with the paint it fits smoothly with the epoxy glue's lubrication.
