I want to apologize if this sounds like a newbie question or discussed in the past.. I was going through the photo section. I saw some interesting stuff (i.e. shop shots, bushing storage). Is there a way to pull up which thread the photo goes to? I did a search for "bushing storage" and a bunch of hits came up. I wasn't sure which one had the photo I was looking at. Also the shop shots one was of the shed "My joy".

It isn't easy but does seem to be possible.

In the photo album click on the picture, that will give you the details on that photo. Click on that version of the picture, that will give you the full-size version of the photo. Right-click on the photo and do "copy link" or "copy URL" or whatever your browser's equivalent is.

Now, go to the top of any page on IAP and click on the "search" button in the blue bar. Paste in the URL you just copied. NOW EDIT IT to remove everything except the actual file name. ie if you pasted in http://www.penturners.org/photos/images/3338/1_JacksPen-4.jpg then you want to trim it so it is just JacksPen-4.jpg. Run your search. That *should* find the threads where that picture was used.

Ok, more testing: that only works if the person pasted the image into their post full size. If they uploaded it to the thread separately than it won't find it. So your best way to find it is to click on the "Search" button listed above, then click on "advanced search", fill in the member's user-name and select "find threads started by". That will show you all the threads they have started; you now have to go through them to see if there is one that has the photo you are interested in.

If the photo has peaked your interest to the point that you would like to read an associated thread, I would suggest that you PM the person who posted the photo, and ask them any questions directly. They, like most others on this site, would probably appreciate your interest, and would be happy to share any information with you.
