I use a Barracuda from PSI for my chucks... they have a little insert in the jaws that fit a dado like slot in my screw drive and holds the work on the screw flat against the nr 2 jaws... look at the slides in your chuck and see if they don't have the same step down in the center that would fit the notch in the screw drive... http://www.pennstateind.com/store/CSCBARR4.html you can just see the ends of the slides in this picture...maybe

on smaller pieces maybe this would be a better screw drive to work with...

Personally, I'm not comfortable with a screw drive and rarely use mine... I prefer to start all my bowls on a face plate... just me since I'm a little gun shy after getting clipped in the face by a flying bowls that came out of my longworth chuck and blacked my eye and may have chipped the cheek bone... sure was sore for a long time.

I started with bowls and we used the worm screw. I used a Super Nova II, it came with the worm screw. Don't make your pilot hole too large or too deep. You want the worm screw to bite well. Also, we were advised to use the tail stock while turning the outside of the bowl and the tenon. If possible, use a forstner bit to create a flat that will butt against your jaws for added security.

According to many sources (manufacturers, professional turner, etc.) you should use the same brand for your chuck and screw chuck. Each manufacturer makes the screw chucks compatible with their jaws and what fits into a Nova just nicely may not fit all that well into a Barracuda or OneWay. It is a safety concern: if the screw chuck does not fit exactly right it could come loose sending your turning across your shop at warp speed.
