I made this for a friend who's daughter is going to Baylor University in Waco Texas. He wanted the Sorority logo that she's a member of and anything Baylor on the pen. The stand will be a surprise as it gave me something to play with during this virus junk. I used iron on transfers on white cloth cast in Alumilite for the pen and Maple for the stand. All Questions and Comments Welcome.

Thank You! I used a scroll saw and two different sanders. I also use a dremel tool with a chamfer router bit. One of the handiest tools I bought is a small belt sander from Harbor Freight. It has a 1" wide vertical belt that I cut in half so it's a 1/2" belt. I took the back fence off so I can work it around small pieces. I've made a few A&M and University of Houston as well. Thanks for the Compliments.

Great job, Kenny!

Did you make your own Texas template or did you find it on line?

I'd love to see a photo of your UH pen holder.

Thanks Edgar. I copied a map off the internet and sized it to what I needed. I included the A&M one as well.

Thanks! Those are all awesome. I have a scroll saw, but I've only cut a couple of practice pieces with it so far. I need to try making some Texas cutouts.

Thanks. I copy an image then size it with Microsoft Word and print it on a piece of regular paper. I then use a spray adhesive to glue the paper to he wood. Then I just cut and sand until I'm happy with it and remove the paper. I do the same with the logos only I use scissors to cut the image apart then glue the paper pieces to the wood. That way there's no need to worry about a saw blade kurf. They're really easy to make especially since I bought the 1" belt sander. I cut the belt in half to make it easy to get into the tight spots. It beats using a file or sand paper to get rid of the blade marks.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. I'm going to try this next week. I don't have a 1" belt sander, but I do have a spindle sander with several sizes of spindles that may work well enough.
