I'm looking for a source of triple start thread components that can be inserted into bespoke pens. When making sections and caps ACME threads would be nice to have available.

I live in the UK I bought all my triple lead taps and dies ftom Beufort ink. They stock everything you need. But they are very expensive. I am sure some one in the USA will stock them. The taps and dies are made in the States.

Angusga is looking for pre-made components to put into the bodies and sections rather than cutting threads himself/herself.

As far as I know nobody does that. Closest would be the Bullseye stainless closed end kits
 
An intersting concept but I dont know of any one who does that. But in my opinion a set of taps and dies in the correct dimensions is a lot better option. A set of taps and dies for a one off outlay money wise with care will last you a life time.
So why would you want to be buying inserts.

I couldn't agree more. But I'm interested in acme threads.
 
Acme taps and dies can be had but are hard to find. The taps aren't really suited to pen work because they are quite long, 5" or more. Acme threads are usually done on metal lathes with single point tools. Someone with one and the skills to make them might be able to help you out. Perhaps check with Rick Herrell https://www.penturners.org/forums/ricks-custom-tools.349/ to see if he would make you what you want.
 
I believe the El Grande roller ball and fountain pen by BereaHardWoods were 13.0mm threads.
I remember the components fitting some material I threaded with 13.0 mm tap and die.

Thanks curly.
I have a small manual machine shop and cut threads with my lathe. The setup for tri starts is complicated so I've been thinking about threading a longer piece of stock with an acme point that I can cut up into the components that I want. I can turn the threads off to make the insertion into the pen barrels and the same idea for the internal threads of the caps. I like metal threads and they will work well in wood blanks.
