We got the motor back from the shop yesterday, that was our last hurtle for a go, no go on the trip north! Today I started a folding roof rack for the freighter canoe to ride on. The 400+ miles of poor dirt road we have ahead of us would have torn the boat to shreds on the trailer! In order too make loading a 21'6" freighter canoe on the truck I designed the whole rack to pivit. I'll add some stiffeners, a roller and guide plank and a come along to make the whole process easier......it's just me and my 5 year old once we leave the house.

I'll finish up the food purchasing and load the rest of the week.......

About a month, should be an excellent summer! Tracy has promised to post updates for the good folks here. I won't have access to a computer up there. My partner on the slope already has a lot of material waiting for me including caribou and moose antler and Mammoth ivory!

That's awesome. Can't wait to see pics of the haul when you get a chance. I love working with antler and mammoth. I am curious about the insides of moose antler.

Moose has a bit of matrix like any other antler but it is very nice stuff to work with. Palm sections seem to have the least spongy stuff.

We will be living largely off the land and I am very hopfull more than one of these guys will end up in the boat! One shouldnt be an issue.....the other is a bit off shore. Might be tuff!

Hi Rick, Stay safe and enjoy by the time we had a son Matthew (just turned 50) we had 4 lovely girls, I had three jobs then 8 yrs later SWMBO insisted on another babe so individual journeys were out for a long time. Next two weeks we celebrate 57 yrs anniversary. Wilma is just emerging from Chemo and Radiotherapy but we trust in the Lord.

You could dead set stand in for my mate Seamus in Texas (very alike) hes a great guy as well.

Look forward to your updates on the trip.

Kind regards Peter.
