So...before I lose my hearing or damage my lungs I'd like to hear from the Trend owners that had their face shield for a while. Would you buy it again or something different. Currently I'm using ear plugs (worthless), a mask(can't breath with it) googles(they are really uncomfortable) and a face shield. Too much for my head. Plus I'm fogging up my eyewear. I considering the Trend with hearing protectors. I like the concept of an All In One protector. Would you buy it again if you got to that point. Thanks, Frank

I have a Trend it works very well. There is a noise in the helmet because that is where the blower is mounted. It is not to bad though. I do not think the shield is greatly impact rated. I have to ware reading glasses any way, so I have them on under the helmet. They also have an ear protection attachment. But I have not used that. Often the ear muffs are included in promotions. Over all like it.

I have been using the Trend for about a year and wouldn't turn without it.
I don't have the hearing protector, but the other features have been very positive. I might consider adding hearing protection in the future.
As a filter for breathing, it has made a noticeable difference in filtration of dust.
With the air blowing all the time, it has made the Texas heat a little more tolerable.
As far as mask protection, it has stopped more than one wayward chunk of wood from bouncing off my face.
It does have some weight on the head, but I have gotten used to that. The battery does add some weight.
I did have the headband break - however, a call to the Trend Hq and I had a new one at no charge within three days. Great customer service and very helpful.
My view - worth every penny.

I bought a trend airshield over 8 years ago. I put a lot of hours on it (for many years I turned 10 hours a day 7 days a week). But after 8 years of hard use it was time to replace it. I spent a lot of time thinking about whether to buy another "original" airshield or whether to upgrade to the Trend airshield pro. I decided to upgrade to the airshield pro. I've been using it for a month now and I feel going with the Pro was the right choice over getting another "original".

I have mixed feelings about the optional integrated hearing protectors on the airshield pro. They are easier to use than trying to use over the ear protectors with the original airshield ever was. They work well. But the attachment points for the hearing protectors on the "pro" are poorly designed (in my opinion).

My reasons for selecting the Pro over the original for my replacement were:

-spares (filters & such) were less expensive and seemed more readily available.
-greater airflow (I was always satisfied with the airflow of the original, but more is better...right?)
-better filter design / performance
-better location of the fan motor making for quieter operation

I have a Trend Airshield Pro. I got it with the ear protection option but I never found them to fit me correctly so I removed them and use my custom ear plugs. It works well for dust protection but I always wear a respirator when working with Ca or other chemicals. It has also stopped several flying chunks of headed toward my face. I wear it all the time and I would not hesitate to purchase another if this one fails.

Trend Fit. Is it suppose to press snug against my nose? Seems like the face shield should be a little farther out. No nose jokes please:biggrin:
