trade for deer antler

sorry if this is in the wrong place. i was wondering. the people on here that sell and trade deer antler i was offered at a show sat 9-17-2011 3 great big boxes of antler that a guy who owns a processing plant has he told me that he would like to trade me for the antler. it is small to med racks. he told me to come by the plant next week and we could work out a deal. my question is what would be a fair trade for the antler he was interested in the deer antler pen stands that i make should i offer him one and a bullet pen he acted like he just wanted to get rid of the antler and like the stands. i do not want to cheat him out of the antler by offering the stand and pen but dont want to under cut myself either. any info on this would help. i think that i have found a good place to obtain antler and dont want to offend him with the offer.

Antler sells for $12.00 a pound on the open mkt. A stand and pen would be a good deal for you in my opinion.

That's one that varies pretty widely. I've traded off a full 2 barrel antler pen for 3 good racks, and traded two antler pens and a cross-cur red oak pen for a whole bag of antler. I'd ask how many he'd trade for a good stand and a bullet pen. Odds are, the pile of antler is a rung or two up from a non-resource in that it get unloaded for whatever he can get for 'em.
