My wife and daughters have picked out their "favorite" blank. It got me thinking about which one's are mine, and how I came about them. So I figured out my top 10.
5. A pink and purple polyresin that I have gotten several from Ptownsubbie. The reason I like them is because I sold a lot of pens with that blank.
4. Highly figured Olivewood. I love the looks of a wood pen. The Olivewood has a characteristic and "craziness" about it that I really like.
3. My third favorite is one called Earthen Core from Exotic pen blanks. It is in their rhynoplastic section, and I like the dark colors that have light colors. I really can't describe it.
2. The Mets Alumilite blank I got from Ptown for a special order pen.
1. Cocobolo with a nice dark grain pattern. We use all these man made materials, but when it comes down to it, I think a nice dark cocobolo pen has a class/prestige (sp) that is really hard to top.
Honorable mention would be burls and spalted woods.
