It's just called braided Hose here. Most stores that would carry it are hose and fitting stores. The store that I get it from is a store that carry's most stuff for the home handyman or small farms. Princess Auto.

I shall explore local auto stores and see what hoses are available to me.

Aluminium core to those or steel,for,weigh with aluminium ferrule section?

Steel tube and the aluminum ferrules are pressed in by 1-1/2".
