I've been branching out a little since retirement, turning a few bowls and such. Since all I'd ever turned were pens I've had to learn a whole new process but I love it. It gives me a break from pens when the thought of having to build my inventory back up starts to get to me.
Anyway I had a couple of gift cards to Wood Craft that family members gave me for Christmas so I decided to treat myself to a Sorby hollowing tool as the taste of bowl turning has gotten me wanting to turn some hollow forms and I ddidn't really have the proper tools.
I had looked at them the last few times I was in Wood Craft and finally decided on the Sorby Hollowing Master http://www.woodcraft.com/product.aspx?ProductID=831862&FamilyID=5023
Used it tonight and I gotta say the learning curve is short, It's a well made tool and it does the job nicely. It comes with the hollowing tip as well a a round scrapping blade to smooth the inside after hollowing.
All in all A great tool and money well spent!
