Linda lost her mind the other day and let me pick up a Festool Domino for a pretty good price. It was used but looks brand new and came with a couple bags of Dominos as well as an extra cutter. This will be used for the flat work we do in our antique business. Assembling wash stand harps, mirror harps as well as some step stools and other projects. Does anyone use this piece of equipment and have any pointers before I jump head first into playing with it? If so please feel free to send a PM. I would love to shorten the learning curve on this.

As I recall it's basically used like a plate joiner. Set it up so that cut will be in the center of the edge piece you are working on or where you've marked for the cut on a surface piece. Double check everything (use a test piece when you aren't sure) and give it a go.

I use miller dowels on the flatwork I do. Similar concept but easier to lay up and I can make them a focal point since they are visible.

It should work great once you figure out how to do the layout. And of course the Festool name behind it. just always too pricey for my wallet. Lillian hasn't been as open minded as Linda has been obviously.
