LOML is out of town at a conference. So, I played and worked in the shop tonight.
Played because I made this Chrome Baron dressed in Buckeye Burl.
Finished using MM, oil and CA then buffed out with carnuba wax.

Then, I started a "Dealer's Choice" 308 order.
Got several blanks ready and turned this one:

It's a Satin slimline with a 308 casing by Gary Max and Sapelle barrel.
Gary's 308 casings have been popular with my clients, they go together well, and they provide me with a fair profit margin. We all win. Thanks Gary.

All comments, good or bad, welcome.

Gary,

The Baron is very nice, but what really caught my eye is the casing pen. I really like the way that you mirrored the casing with the wood. The way that it necks down near the finial is really nice.

A couple of very nice pens, I especially like what you did with the design of casing pen and the Sapelle, satin and nickel all go together very well. I would say you have a couple of winners.

Gary that is SUPER looking pen---your workmanship on the reverse is great. Of course I will have to give that a try.
Oh --keep a look out for your mailman----something new is headed your way from Kentucky------hehehehehehe

Gary
I just saw what I wanted and now I can ask my question.
I just ordered some castings of 308 and now did you use a bushing between the bottom part of the pen and the top or did you do the fitting manualy. If you did it with a bushing want bushing was it? and where do I get them?
Thanks
Bob

Bob,
I square off the casing and use it as the bushing. Of course, that means you have to be careful not to touch it.
Now, you've got me thinking -- I'm going to make a bushing for use in the future.
