A friend sent me a link to a poor sod who thought his Chevy was able to handle an 8 to 10 ton chunk of tree.

The rest of the pics are self explanatory.

Of course, if the weight was loaded better, he "might" not have had a problem.
Then again, it is a chevy, made by Geriatric Machines
 
00000, Frame shop, here we come! Half ton and a Chevy at that. I have a HD Cummins/Dodge and I would have second, third, fourth thoughts about trying that. Heck, the trailer was way under weight even. Did yo see the bed/cab gap?

I have a lot of ex-friends who didn't like it when I laughed at their "toy trucks" when they were bragging about the loads they could carry/pull. As far as I am concerned, any "pickup truck" is darn near a waste of money for anything other than shopping trips and going to work.:wink:
 
That's kinda how my little ranger looked when I picked up my box elder log... I wasn't quite down on the springs after I got it loaded, but I definitely was overloaded. I cut up a 10-14 foot log that was about 24 inches at the base.... stacked it in the bed of the truck and then my son and I leaned forward when I needed the front wheels down...:laugh::laugh:
 
This guy will eventually win a Darwin Award!

For those unfamiliar with this award, it is an honor that is presented after death to those that have made a sizable contribution to humanity by eliminating themselves from the gene pool.
