I didn't need more wood, not even olive. I wasn't even looking for the annual olive wood stuff at Trader Joe's, but there it was, very hard to miss. There were 2 pieces, the other was fairly nice, mostly just because it's olive wood, but this might be the most figured olive wood I've ever seen!

that's great! I bought a board at TJ's a couple years ago and am still cutting blanks out of it. The figuring on the boards they're selling is crazy.

Was this sold as a cutting board or something?
Yes, but the intention is geared toward charcuterie for holiday serving.

Once, I looked at TJ's and the cutting boards were full of knots. Passed on it.
Well, as long as you were there, I hope you picked up a Kringle. The place they get those from is pretty much right by EB. I wonder how many flavors Ed and Dawn have tried?

And see, that's just it... I still haven't cut up the last one, but I could not resist! The wife didn't even question me putting it in the cart. I'm a lucky guy!

ha!!!! She probably figures you've already used it. or to paraphrase my favorite author, Patrick McManus, you've reach a point in her mind where "he and that shop with all that wood"

The last four words are the most important because it's no longer something she tracks in her head, you just have a bunch so as long as the overall stock remains the same or greater she may not realize what you've got. As long as the occasional project kicks something out she likes you're in good shape. Every once in a while you pick something up at the store like that board because "it has such gorgeous figure" and it just goes into the "all that wood" filing system in her head.

We were gifted a cutting board from a Nephew visiting from Hamilton, Canada a few months ago. IT IS STUNNING! A stock Charcuterie board, but awesome grain. Good for you. Have fun.
