As I read more and more about casting and pressure pots, I wonder about timing. Seems many of the resin mixes start working quickly. What kind of handle time is there before you have to place the molds in the pressure pot and start the air for either pressure/vacuum and do you achieve said pressure/vacuum in time? It appears everything unfolds fairly fast with some resins.

You hit it on the head with the comment "some resins". I think the all have different working times. I know with alumilite I can take up to 10 min before putting in pressure pot but I have only mixed a couple colors, not sure if some colors will change that time.

I use the Alumilite also and found that I have about 8-10 minutes depending on the air temp. As far as hitting the pressure, I can hit 60# in about 4 seconds with a small compressor with stacked tanks.
Good luck,
Johnnie

I use PR and I don't use vacuum. Just add catalyst, stir and pour into silicone molds. Pressurize to 40 lbs. and let it sit. So far no trouble with air bubbles.
