Today they were making the order for lunch, and I wrote my order down on a post it note. 4 different people said they were mad because I have not asked them if they wanted to buy a pen. Other than the fact I do not have any currently on the shelves, that is a good sign. Also one of my wifes co workers wants one.

I figure 2 or so will actually buy from work.

At count (Let's see).

I have ten pens (IIRC) that I need to make for people who requested them. That doesn't count the three to six (maybe more if I remember more) pens for gifts, and the jewelry boxes and trays for gifts.

My belief is that, "If I can't keep up with my orders, then I'm not charging that "equilibrium price". (in my case it also has to do with other events and circumstances)

While the fact your pens are in demand is great there is a potential down side. Some employers would prefer that while on the job the employees are actually doing what they're paid to do:eek:. Others are are little more lax but could be worth checking. Just a thought.

Employers who have been at it for a while understand that people are human. They can't be expected to behave like a robot. If robots and computers could do the work that humans have been hired for, they would be in place already. I'm not advocating goldbricking but this was just a conversation about pens while lunch was being ordered.

Then why are you wasting time posting on a forum?? you should be turning you poor lathe to death!! as I remember one of the objects of this Hobby/ Addiction is to Sell/ give away pens, so quit typing and start turning.

speaking of which I better get my big butt running the mill and making tools.

I am at work waiting for information from one of the project managers, until then I am sitting around on over time. No someone needed a pen to write something, so I handed them one of mine. . . That is what sturred them complaining "you have not asked me if I wanted to buy one" So it was all them, not me :p
