For the past 4 years I've donated a knife and pen combo for the annual Veterans drawing at the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation banquet. This is this years donation for the banquet that will be held in June. The knife is a skinner done in Black Walnut crotch (the picture is terrible) and the pen is an American Patriot with the lower barrel wrapped in stabilized Service-berry that I cut, dried and stabilized myself. The wood also comes off my property. The upper barrel is wrapped in the stars, sorry no stripes this year, that I've had for a long time now. The first time I tried to turn this piece, several years ago, it shattered, scared me half to death and kept me from turning any more acrylics until today. The finish on the wood is Teak Oil with four coats of WOP and some Renaissance wax. The acrylic was dry sanded then wet sanded to 2000 grit. Final coat of "One Step" plastic finish was put on. Thanks for looking.
