The first production-ready example of my new "Cadence by Troubadour" line of pens. It will be available in twist, fountain, and click (as shown here.) The above example is Katalox with a Goncalo Alves accent band built around a mixture of hardware pieces, crowned by a Schmidt SKM-88 click mechanism. It will be available to be built in any wood combination you like. The pen is a comfortable constant 11mm OD down to the last 5mm of both the nib and end section before tapering down to meet the hardware. Grip ridges are cut 1mm deep with my chisel and then burned at 3000 RPM with guitar strings. Finish is U-Beaut Shellawax for a very tactile, wood forward, antique feel. The click version will be available within the week and the twist and fountain versions will be following shortly!

Looks beautiful! Is this some kind of kitless or custom build?
Custom build. I rarely use a kit right out of the box. I always mix and match pieces to make something unique. When I build fountain pens, they are 100% kitless. All from scratch. All from wood. Press fit, no threads. This particular pen is a combination of a very unique slimline from WoodCraft and the Duraclick Slim kit from PSI. All under a custom wood body of course. I hate the center bands that come with slimline kits. I can't stand that "tucked waist" look. So I always get rid of that center band and build a body with no tuck, replacing the center bands with a wooden accent ring if I think the design benefits from it. I do al lot of grinding away of brass from internal pieces so that they fit seamlessly into the bodies that I turn. It's very rewarding to color outside the lines, so to speak!
