Gypsy has moved on to Rainbow bridge to be with her son Aspen who crossed over in January. She was with us for 7 years, coming to us 30lbs under weight because of depression. After we nursed her back to health she had a spunk that I haven't seen in many. She was our little Diva.

She will be missed.

As a dog owner, sorry to hear of your loss :frown:
they are family members.
years ago i had a siberian husky, he was stolen, we have a 6lb terripoddle mix now, SPOILED, she owns the house, yard, everything and dont get close to mommy.

Sorry to hear about your loss Mike. It's never easy to loose a member of the family......you hit on the reason we dont run a sled team......my heart could not take loosing 16 of my best freinds.
 
Even though the hurt right now is terrible, the love we receive from them makes it well worth the pain. We feel yours.

When you consider that we rescued her and her son from death row (literally hours before they were to be euthanized) and they stayed with us for 7 good years. What more can you ask for.

Little more info on her. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's about a year or so ago (dementia being the worse symptom we saw) and likely had a stroke the day before we took her in. The stroke robbed her of her ability to stand/walk.

Huskies usually only live about 12 years. I have personally never seen one hit 15 years, until Gypsy. 15 years and 2 months.
 
The loss you have over a best friend is important and the pain and memories will never go away. But as they become more of a memory, try to build new memories with another best friend. That new friend will give both of you a fuller heart. Your old friend will send you a new friend.

I know you've been here before but it still doesn't make it any easier. All you can do is take solace in knowing you did the best you could for them, and that they're lives were better and longer for it.
