Yikes Sam, the coffee in Houston must be pretty strong. I greatly admire turners who do that stuff. However, if you want to see that applied to pens, look at John Smith's work. I'll get a link in a minute.

Maybe its the 12oz of stovetop espresso? Definitely not a stretch to put you in the same league as these guys, slightly different style but equally fascinating. I hadn't run across @John Smith work, so thank you for sharing. It is always fun for me to see when woodworkers develop tools and techniques to make things that seem almost impossible, your work is always right there at the top. Now back to my coffee...
