Texatdurango, following the advice in your buffing post from December 2009 has improved my finishes significantly. Thank you for sharing your process and tool suggestions.
I purchased the canton flannel wheels and the plastic buffing compounds, set them up on my old Jet 1014 and am enjoying making my finishes shinier. I thought micromesh was the cat's pajamas, but this set-up works better. Plus I don't have to get the squirt bottle out to wet the MM (wish the buffs were in stock last fall, that would have eliminated very cold, wet hands over the winter).
Now another buffing question. I'm putting some complex curves in some pieces and sanding them can be quite challenging. If I add a tripoli wheel, could I jump from the tripoli to the plastic glo and plastic compounds? Would I need an intermediate step (white diamond or something else)?
