Sierra paua shell on a sierra blk/tg/plat ballpoint. Was turning the blank and got greedy, had a catch and thought it was a goner. Wrote to Dawn and Ed to see if there was a way to save. Ed suggested clear epoxy so I gave it a shot. Worked out great! Let it cure overnight and turned very carefully, and mm'd very slowly so as not to heat the epoxy too much. I know where the catch was, but really can't see even with a mag glass:biggrin:

Wow... Good for you! I've never been successful at a fix so I'm glad someone has. Is there a specific epoxy? Some tend to seem more "yellow" to me than pure clear.

I THINK (lots of questions answered in the past couple weeks, so they sometimes run together) I suggested using an epoxy, but testing it first.
Just form a wad of the epoxy on a piece of paper and see, later, if it is clear.

If it is, THEN use it to repair.

Because there are a myriad of choices for epoxy, this seems the best method.

GLAD it WORKED!!!!
