I had a great visit with Curtis and Pat Ankrom at Curtis' shop yesterday. I was lucky enough to watch cactus knife scales in production, see some beautiful pen blanks and scales and learn a bunch from these two talented gentlemen. They were absolutely great guys to hang with. Curtis gave me a demo of his vacume chamber which is impressive. After all the steps involved in making the chambers he is about giving them away! He showed me some before and after examples of the cactus juice that was amazing! Worm eaten spalted and punky wood that i would have thrown away was solid and weighed considerably more than the untreated blanks. He made one new believer out of me! Thanks guys for putting up with me, like The Arnold said "I'll be back"
