While on vaca got this from a place called alamo hardwoods in San Antonio, Tx. grew up in Texas and had never heard of it till now, after 18 yrs in Alaska. sorry for the bad photo, does not do the wood true justice. rich brown with hints of cream in it. nice to turn, little like iron wood.

Nice looking pens. I have a couple of blanks of texas ebony that I need to try out. Mine are a little more black in color. It does look like it would be easy to turn. Kirk [8D]
