Does anyone know the best place to purchase teachers pens?
The last time I got some they were very poor quality (PSI line)
I had to drill out the pen guides that screw in the transmission
that hold the refill.

The one I bought from Woodturningz I think it was , was good, but its probably the PSI one. You might have just got a bad one. Also Woodcraft sells them too.

Yikes, I need to make one today. I hope that does not happen to me.

I won't sell them

I've always had assembly problems with them - the guides are either too loose and won't hold the refill or too tight to get it adjusted right, you end up with the refill protruding too far or retracting if you push to hard and won't extend far enough. And the refills (particularily the red or green ink) dry up while they're waiting to be sold. I won't market the kits in my store because I think I'd have too many complaints.

I've made two from Woodcraft. I haven't had any issues with them. They certainly weren't the highest quality, but the pieces fit, and they worked.

I wish they had some with different finishes.

x2 on the WC pens. I've given 4 away over the last two years. All four are still going strong. I only know because the teachers all needed refills for the red ink.
