I just finished making the table saw sled that David Reed Smith posted here: http://content.penturners.org/articles/2004/tspensled.pdf

Tried it out tonight and I really like it. Simple to make and I really took my time trying to get the fence perpendicular to the blade. Got it so close I think I could make a pen with out squaring to the tube if I could get my drill press as square. Nice jig to have, in my opinion.

I have a couple of sleds I use for diff things, large for flat work and a smaller one for pen work. They are very close, (perpendicular to the blade) my drill press is close. But I still mill every blank after gluing the tube and trimming. It's "very" tough to get a blank "perfectly" square with out a mill that utilizes the tube in some way. Even the disc sander type rigs use the tube for alignment.

One thing I do like about the looks of this sled you built is the way it holds the parts from the top. Thats the week point of my small parts sled. I may even look into modifying mine similar to that.
Thanks for the post.
