As some may know, my wife, kids and I are in the process of adopting 2 children from a little known and little country in Africa called Lesotho. We have made it through the home study, application process and are in the process of finishing up a bit of paperwork before all goes to the Lesotho government for our long wait of 6-12 months before we hear on placement.

I had put out an appeal for pens or materials to sell in different outlets. Some have come through with donations of different items and donations in general. I have been amazed in the support of my local community and the community here. This past weekend we had a huge sale of donated items from our church and artists of differnet medium. We were able to raise a third of our application funds.

Our kids also had a bake sale from donated baked goods. They were so excited to be a part of this big process.

What a blessing! Here are some pics of this amazing weekend.

Congrats Eric! Man did you have the stuff. How many weeks in a row can you have a yard sale in your city? Because you are going to need a few weeks to sell all that.

Congratulations on your sale. It can be quite an expensive process, but well worth it. My youngest is adopted from China. I was amazed at all of the little items that kept popping up for payment. But I would do it again at twice the cost. When is the anticipated arrival or do you know yet? Good luck with the funding raising.
