All the pens I've done were done on a mandrel. I'm thinking about going to TBC.
Question: how is it mounted on the lathe with the bushings but no mandrel ????
Thanks

Yes and no.

There are TBC bushings which are typically better "centered" and fit in the 60 degree live and drive centers.

You can use the same bushings as used on a mandrel but they are not always round enough.

You can also simply turn without bushings and just use calipers.

I have used both the PSI and the TBC branded. I like them both!!

I like this one the best
Here @ Exotic Blanks

I use these too but not as much
Here @ TBC Bushings

Best of Luck,
Drew
