Straight Razor

Here she is. All ready to pin! This was about a year long project. Moved, lost interest, lost my mind!! But i decided i needed to finish a few projects. This is one.

I bought the vintage blade. Ckeaned it up and honed it. Decided i wanted to make the scales out of wood by hand. No electric tools whatsoever. Was a fun project i named Twisted Sister. Hence the logo. Its Curly Maple Dyed extreme Pink. Satin finish of spar urethane. Dipped 3 times then wet sanded to 12000 micro mesh.

Its far from perfect. But its mine. And thats good enough for me. Now to pin it.

Looks great Ernie. I remember when you posted starting pictures. Nice to pull out some almost done projects and get them finished. I love the color.

Cool... I'm not likely to ever use a straight razor... more likely to cut my own throat.

I have my grandfather's razor with ivory scales on the handle... it's currently packed away and not sure where.... need to dig it out.

That's beautiful! Love the vintage blade. I'm sure you can't find many of those nowadays and it's probably better quality than newer stuff.
