I am getting ready to place an order to replenish my bottle stoppers...

I have been using mostly the Ruth Niles SS stoppers, and my show history proves that the customer preference is the Ruth Niles stoppers over all of the chrome plated (that I still have ;(

But now that Ruth Niles has started the SS fashion, other vendors such as Craft Supply also offer the SS stoppers...such as the 'Mini Droplet Stainless Steel Bottle Stopper'.

Does anyone have comments on what customers may prefer..?..
or maybe just comments on opinions of which may be preferred and why..?

Please..pleze..do not disrespect either of the vendors, that is NOT what I am looking for. I have used both vendors many times in the past and have high regard for both...!!

Have you seen the new ones PSI have came out with? I would have put up a link... but it looks like PSI site is down for Maintenance.

I bought the mini ss stoppers from Packardwood.. which is in fact PSI... I've also bought the mini ss stoppers from the Woodturners catalog. Have not bought from Ruth yet, because I watch the dollars closely and most of the time when I'm doing stoppers, I'm also buying other things from which ever catalog I use... I've seen no difference in either the PSI/Packardwoods and the Woodturners catalog stoppers.. funny thing, my customers actually tend to take the silicone stopper over the stainless steel.... but there is a difference in price and maybe a difference in turning styles as well.

I haven't been doing this for long and started out by buying supplies from the "big boys" PSI, CSUSA, Woodcrsaft. I'm finding better deals through this forum so for my restocking I will probably use different suppliers. But with that said...

I have sold every SS Tear Drop style stopper (from CSUSA) I have made. I made more short style my first time around and that was the right choice. The short style can be used on the counter but if the blank isn't too tall the real advantage is that the bottle fits in the fridge (but you probably already knew that:rolleyes:).

John, I took part in a group buy a while back and have made a couple so far. But this is the website that we purchased from: http://www.stainlessbottlestoppers.com/

I like them so far.

Are you talking about Packard Woodworks?
