I have access to a quite tall pressure pot, maybe 36" tall. My question is: could one maybe have a wood shelf the seperates the individual molds and stack several in a pot? Is time critical to placement into pot, ie, does it need to be done before the gelling sets in...would one have time to place the layers?

Thank you

I usually just stack one mold on top of another, before you do any stacking though level out the bottom of the pot, they are curved and if you don;t place it in the exact center your molds wont be level. As for time to place it into the pot, that would depend on what you are casting. I've been able to cast and stack about 4 blank molds with alumilite before I had to pressurize. I placed a plastic disc on the bottom and have had no problems in the past 15 years

I stack mine with a piece of UHMW between each, allowing a small space over each cavity. It works fine. I do rush to get everything in the pot.

Last weekend, I cast a bunch of pine cone stoppers. I was a bit slow pouring them all so it took me longer than expected to pressurize my pot. The first couple stoppers that I poured ended up going in the trash becasue the PR set up before it could be forced into all the crevices.
